The closest I ever came was leaving Spain. Iberia Airlines and then British Air accepted my fully assmbled, unboxed bike as checked baggage. All I had to do was put it in the plastic bag the airline supplied. I don't think yuo will ever be able to roll your bike into the cabin. The barely leave enough room for passengers. Some day, flying will be like this:
