A bit before your timeline but, I just bought the lightest bike I could find. And afford. Wasn't the greatest bike, but at 21 pounds, it was about as light as they came. Plastic derailleurs and all! It wasn't long after that when one started seeing the trend…fad…of perforated parts showing up.
