I was ridding on a sleepy side street yesterday, when in front of me a truck parked on the side of the street showed his backup lights. I was in a VERY visible dayglo jersey and middle of the day(ie I was visible), yet the driver just put it in reverse (he had a car in front) and pulled back and out right in front of me.

I of course (luckily) saw all this happening and was able to anticipate and swerved out of his path. I looked back (as I cussed him out) and saw he not only had a dog on his lap, but was talking on a phone as well. I mean..c'mon.

But to top it off? There was a city police cruiser coming right at me on the street. For once I thought a driver was finally going to get his due for this kind of BS. NOTHING. The police did NOTHING. Drove right by.

WTF has to happen for distracted drivers to be at least WARNED of their dangerous behaivor? I know, death, but seriously.
