I wouldn't go that far ... if you saw me up close or at work or at school, there would be absolutely no mistaking me for a female.
But when I ride, I braid my long hair and wear fairly generic cycling clothes. And when I walk late in the evenings, I tuck my hair into my big bulky jacket. I also walk and ride like I'm going somewhere ... like I have a place I need to be very soon. When I do that, people don't seem to notice me or pay much attention to me.
But then ... I'm not American. So maybe
that makes a difference.
