Read the OP. He's an accomplished runner. The aerobic base is there. I wouldn't recommend it for most, but I would in this case.
Aerobic capacity is only half of it. he still needs miles in his legs to become strong and proficient/efficient. he has 3 months to train and see what happens. Washington also tends to be windy.
