More typically, I’d rather take the $300 bike with $300 worth of upgrades over the $600 bike whose OEM components fail to yield satisfaction for whatever reasons. I can do a lot with $300 worth of upgrades and have done so numerous times to my bikes as well as to the bikes of friends and family.
