You can also have knee pain from a saddle that is too high! The unscientific rule of thumb is that pain in the front, seat too low, pain in the back of your knee is possibly a seat too high.

Are you mashing too much (slow pedaling a hard gear)?

A couple of representative pictures of you pedaling from a side view would probably be helpful.
