It's only a good deal to me if I could take the parts off and resell the frame for $400. Then buy a no brand CF frame and put the 105 on it, then you'd have spent the same amount to have a lighter, stiffer bike
It's a good deal with the 105. Though the frame doesn't seem that awesome, nothing spectacular about it. It's the components that are carrying the pricetag on that one for sure.
21.5 lbs? You can find vintage steel on CG for less. And I would wonder if the Variado ride quality would be much better.
- Review I read is that it feels sluggish, slow acceleration, tough on the hills. But the frame is built robustly so if you are ever slamming into telephone poles, bike will survive. It's a harsh ride over rougher terrain and the shock follows right up through the post and into saddle, according to all of BikeRadar's testers felt the same way.
$850 if you can sell the frame for $400, good deal to me
