I'd be very concerned about the liability you (homeowner) would incur if a "guess" was hurt/injured on your property. I'd guess that the average homeowner's policy would not cover the homeowners "arse" in this case since you are in effect using your home as a business. So before doing this, you'd have to get a business insurance policy or modify your homeowners, both are now cost to the homeowner. Inviting someone into your home as a guess (with no payment) is a far cry from accepting payment for a service, lodging in this case.
