Sometimes the shark grows legs. There is nothing we can do to protect ourselves from freak accidents like being struck by a meteorite or a sinkhole swallowing our entire bedroom as we sleep. Staying home in bed is a very safe decision and STILL does not protect us completely. Almost anything you do once you crawl out of bed has risk. Cycling with motor vehicles has got to be fairly high on the risk scale of what the average person is willing to gamble their life upon. Staying home would have to be considered Zero risk on a scale of 1 to 10 - the "control group" if you will.
