i've had both knees done (2008 and 2011). I went to a sports medicine doctor. He had me on the bike (on the trainer) 6 hours after surgery. My PT was to ride 3 times a day, 5 minutes each ride, and work up from there. I was up to 45 minutes after 3 weeks. The doc let me back on the road after 4 weeks.
