I have to admit, I sometimes envy you folks who can commute on a singlespeed/fixie.
And other times, I pity you.
I live in the city, so singlespeed is enough, leave the gears for the weekends. Plus, the derailleurs were seized up when I got the bike, so this was a quicker way to get it on the road.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments - this has been a great project and may have started a habit.
