The mtb and the beater are MUCH more forgiving rolling over most anything with the suspension taking curves easily. The road bike? Big pothole means pinch flats, railway tracks can be annoying and the wrong sized grating can be deadly. In all, on a bad road I'll take one of my mtbs anyday. Nice weather, smooth road, road bike wins.
