Putzing around at one of the local bike co-ops this afternoon, and noticed an older example of a Continental Gatorskin over there. Different tread pattern than the current examples (somewhat similar to the Grand Prix Classic, minus the chevron pattern on the edges), still with the same sort of mesh pattern over the side walls as they have now, but with a very different logo - more of a long and skinny yellow "label", without the distinctive futuristic font they're now using.

Now I'm wondering when they came out with the Gatorskin. Anyone know offhand?
