The only thing to perhaps worry about is the mountain derailer shifting smoothly on your ring combo, but I think it would shift fine.
Agreed. With 48 big ring, that's perfect for a mountain derailleur. I use 10 speed SRAM X.9 and it shifts my 50/39/24 flawlessly.
