i put a 6" stack of phone books under the front wheel, put the bike in the biggest gear i have, turn up the trainer's resistance, and do 1-1.5 hours of a constant grind at 65-70 rpm. it doesn't really feel like climbing, but it does a good job of giving you a long climbing workout in your climbing position. i have an old tv and a small dvd player down in the basement, so i put on a cycling video or a movie.
