I've seen several out there with prices ranging according to condition. My question is, why the hell are there tons of right crankarms but no left arms? I know there's gotta be a logical reason. Thanks in advance.

PS Be warned, I'll probably have more dumb questions as I start tinkering about.
Just chiming in,

There's actually a fix for this, that greatly helps/ perhaps entirely preventing it if it hasn't happened yet.

With the driveside crank, the problem area is both sides where it transitions to the spider the edge is very sharp and acts as a stress riser. A narrow round file can be used to round out those 2 problem areas to prevent cracking.
