Question regarding shipping a bike: insurance

Ok so the Salsa is all boxed up and ready for it's trip to Austin for the Ride for the Roses. I will be shipping it UPS ground. So UPS provides the first $100 of insurance but clearly that isn't going to cover much if the bike is damaged...how much insurance should I get on this thing?

I am torn because I figure they wont loose it completely but of course there is that slight chance they could...do I insure it for the full replacement value? If they are going to damage it I would guess many parts will be fine to re-use so if I am insuring it for the damage they might do that obviously wouldn't be the full replacement value but how much would it be?

Or do I just take the risk...not buy any insurance...and if they loose it, damage it I simply foot the bill out of my own pocket?

Last time I shipped a bike I packet it well (as I have this bike) and got insurance as it was a sale...but that was only $700 worth of bike. With my Record conversion...pedals and shoes in the box...my oddsandendos wheels...I would guess replacement would run me between $2000-$3000.

Thoughts from expierenced bike shippers here. Thanks
