Well as a cyclist who due to a twisted and short left leg from being run over by a drunk in a car, and a stuffed lower vertebrae I cannot walk very far at all! I can cycle quickly and efficiently however.
If Segways were legal here I would take the Segway! I could charge it off my solar panels so it would have a carbon neutral fuel source and I could use it for those trips into the CBD etc where a bike would be inappropriate! I think there are many people who for medical and injury reasons just can't ride a bicycle and who's personal mobility would be covered so much better by one rather than taking a car for a trip of a couple of kilometers! I think some people here are being a bit snobby!
