You don't stick the adapter on the phone, you stick it on any one of a multitude of cases into which you place the phone. So you are not constrained to using the quad lock case. That way you can pretty much get any characteristic in a case that you want - waterproof, ruggedized, battery etc..... and with no permanent change to the phone.
