I find 4x to be overkill and a pita to lace. I did it once and haven't looked back. Especially before Wooljersey went down and Aldo had the bikes from the 30s with radial spokes up front.

The long nipples have a lot of threading. Having the spokes to the end would be ideal, but unnecessary.
