True.. I don't know many departments that would keep such an officer.. As I stated earlier, while many cities are self insured, they still have underwriters.. It's my understanding that many an officer have been fired for DUI, speeding offenses ect.. The city can claim the officer is no longer insurable and therefor unable to meet the requirements of his/her job..
