+1 Five minutes with a brush and olive oil gets the particulate back in suspension and the detergent takes it all off at once. Olive oil has polar molecules that are stronger surfactants than most detergents.

BTW, the shampoo is mostly the same anionic detergent (lauryl sulfate) as dish "soap", usually more expensive.
