Thats what I was thinking. I do remember having a hard time installing my bb on my old frame.. I took it out to put in my new frame the same way... struggled and felt like I was cross threading then a bike shop employee helped me out a bit and said I was doing it backwards. It threaded in much more nicely like it should the other way around and now the shop thinks that chainring is too close to the frame.
