Late last year, I noticed that my Garmin HRM was acting up (very high values). Research pointed to the soft strap. An original garmin strap cost a gazillion dollars so I looked for a possible replacement. Enter POLAR strap that costs a little over HALF a gazillion dollars than garmin. It was a perfect fit!
So last March, I decided to get another one since I ride every weekend. I can wear one on Sat and a clean one on Sun.
The new one was giving me issues though. I noticed that after awhile, it would disconnect or give weird values. Yesterday, I found out why.
The new one, for some reason, is not the same as the one I bought last year although they are the same model. On the new unit, the buttons did not align perfectly with the garmin. Distance between the butons were longer.
So when I attach the garmin unit, there was a slack. Once this is pressed to the chest, the slack causes one of the buttons to disengage.
I contacted POLAR regarding the issue and see what they come up with. Both units I purchased at Amazon.
