Im positiv, considering the chain has been replaced and the teeths on the crank looks to be somewhat worn out. + the bikecycle mechanic said that the bike could use a replacement. (Thought i would do it myself - would like to know how to do most of these things, before i move away from my parents).
I did however find a crankset very similar to the one you linked, but i would like to find something that is of better ranking - I have read that the crank you linked is rank 15 of 18. :-(
"rankings" aren't necessarily an indicator of quality. They're based on user input and for the most part I'd say the user is uneducated on the subject and "ranked" it according to their experience, which was probably very little. They may have had a bad experience due to their lack of knowledge.
There are higher end components than your original, but don't forget as you move that direction it costs more.
