Cat4 Bunny Hop Crit (3-corner, flat, fast) - 40 minutes

Lined up and stayed in the front quarter for most of the race. A few flyers and groups off the front, but no sizeable gaps and nothing stuck. I wasn't working that hard for much of the race. with about 9 laps to go a guy I marked went off the front and get's a fairly large gap. I saw that the field wasn't chasing from about 8 wheels back and then I notice two of his teammates were on the front and covering. I saw another guy I was marking try to close the gap, but he wasn't getting any other help from the field and I didn't want the front guy to get too big of a gap. I jumped up to help and ended up towing the field for a lot of the 1.5 laps to bring him back.

Bell lap, the same guy and his teammate pass me in the 2nd to last corner (about 1k to go). I chase hard, pass them slowly, and beat them to the last corner on the inside. I sprinted to the finish to win by a few bike lengths. 2nd win in a month after a disappointing weekend in Page County (stage race - first one). Enough points to upgrade now (even under the old USAC rules - which was a personal goal of mine), but the focus will be on helping teammates to get some points and do better in longer road races before I move to the 3s.
