Alright today I recieved some news that to say the least pissed me right off....

Some background : I have been biking to and from work about 12km each way for the past 3-4 months. I work 12 hour shifts, so its not easy to get to gym classes which are most motivational for me. I live in Waterloo Ontario, it gets cold here, and I have spent the last month or 2 getting ready for winter, between my gear and ride I have about $2000+ (not much to some but alot to me)

So today my company tells me that they are removing the bike room (very nice room to put your bike with racks lining the walls and only accessable to employees) for what ever reason it may be. Oh but we can park our bikes outside in the rack.

I'm sorry but this is BS, I'm not chipping my bike out of ice and snow and sitting on a wet and/or frozen seat. I understand the need for space, but there has to be a better alternative. I have been looking forward to the challange of this winter and getting through it riding most if not every day. I mentioned my state of anxiety at these just recieved changes to my boss and let him know that parking my bike outside is not a viable option, but it doesn't look like i will have any other option.

I don't know if I'm just venting or hoping someone can give me some advice. I believe I will be contacting the health department about this tomorrow as well to let them know that this is a major inconvenience for me... but other then that I don't really have much else I can do....

Also forgot to mention my work is located directly between 2 universities and that is another reason not to leave my bike sitting there for 12 hours at a time.
