I'm just curious cause I have a pair of shimano sl 6400 downtube shifters and they have these silver parts to mount onto the downtube boss covers. I think they're missing the silver part that goes onto to the downtube shift boss covers as I tried to mount them on the boss covers but they don't seem to fit very well. Just not too sure tried taking a look at pics online and seems like other sl 7402 don't have them on google but just wanted to make sure.

btw, the action to switch the lever from sis to friction doesn't seem to have the same clicking action as my sl 6400 . Is this normal or do I have to rehaul them?
