You guys are right. I'm not a speedster, so even if I were to get a lighter bike, my nature would not want me to go beyond a certain speed anyway, making the speed aspect of a faster bike a moot point. Judging from you people's actual experience, I doubt a lighter bike would give me a big boost in speed or distance covered anyway, certainly not enough to justify the expense of an expensive bike. Besides, as you all know, vintage Schwinn bikes are built like tanks, so I have no problem taking this bike through rougher terrain, something I would be very hesitant to do on a more expensive bike.
For now, I'm just going to enjoy the ride, and not worry about the speed aspect of my journey. I will be working on making this engine more fit, and not blame the bike for this engine's shortcomings. Thanks to all for helping me see the light. Cheers!
