Thanks for the input. I called Performance (where I purchased from) and the tech support rep mentioned hairspray. I also stopped at a local Dicks Sporting Goods the bike tech mentioned hairspray. So I used a little! However, a couple of hours later I did move the hardware over and repositioned the grips. They seem much better! I am going to go out for a ride in a bit so I guess I will find out.

Does the clamp do anything besides adjust the finger bar? i.e., does it affect the grip on the handlebar?

I did not see anything to measure in the packaging. Perhaps I missed something...I will check that out again.
