When I want to commute or do long distance with the roadies on it, I swap to semi-pursuit bars and clamp on a front brake. Due to an unfortunate incident this past weekend I have to replace my bullhorns.

ATM, I am seriously considering going with a compact drop bar and hooded levers for riding this bike with a brake. But I am worried that running such a set-up on a true pista…will not only look ridiculous but also be an affront to the track bike gods

Should I do it?
My bike isn't built with track geo so I'm not affending the TBGs. Drop bars and brakes are good riding with a spirited group of geared road bikes. Ride what makes sense for the conditions. I gave up on the "looking ridiculas" concern a long time ago.
