I think you are asking whether the brake and shifter positions can be swapped with the brake pushed inboard as much as possible. If so the only way to find if it works is to try it. Assuming the shifter cables are long enough the only potential conflict I see is the brake handle extending over the shifter. As long as you can keep everything separate and functional it should work.
If you haven't done this before my recommendation would be to let your lbs do it. A good bike mechanic will have the knowledge to make those two controls fit together and work and will have any needed parts at hand.
