Hi hahnaroo, you picked up a very nice bike. I think it's a Colnago Master Piu and I would date it somewhere in the late 80's. It's really difficult to date Colnago frames to a specific year. The components look to be a mixture of (old) Super Record, C-Record and Chorus from the mid to late 80's from what I can see. It would be interesting to ask your mate why the mixture of components but my guess would be that he bought the frame and fitted it out with the best components he could afford at the time.

The Master Piu was the same as the Master frames but the 'Piu' refers to internal rear brake cabling through the top tube. They were a top racing frame in their era and continue to attract a following due to their innovative design for their time and their great ride qualities.

It's a Colnago and it's red - what more could anyone want?
