I think it helps, but I don't think it's hours and hours of help. I think you might get an hour more or so. The GPS sucks down a lot of power as well and that still continues to run even if the display is off.

The RFLKT+ also provides barometric altitude, temperature and ANT+ to BT translation. And you can leave your phone in your jersey pocket.
