Izip (aka Currie and Ezip) has a reputation (do your own research) for lower quality and marginal service. They use a cheaper motor made by Bafang (Chinese). Emotion and Pedego have the best reputations for top quality and great service. Both of them use a much better motor made by Dapu (Japanese). I don't yet own an electric bike, but plan to buy an electric bicycle in the next few weeks. Based on about 6 months of research, I plan on buying a PEDEGO. Can you return the Izip and get a full refund? Please keep us posted. The first test is to see if Izip will give you a full refund. If not, I'd be concerned. Final point, I'm an electrical engineer by profession and a big fan of EBIKES and ECARS.
