My rain bike is in houston. I have a beater but with no power meter. I also left thr trainer in houston. For the first time i'm going to be a total snob and say that i'm mad for getting wet. My roubaix got rusted to the point of needing 2 derailleurs in 4k miles. I rode it in rain during 35 degree weather. Replacing ultegra fd and rd was painful enough nevermind 9000 series DA with rust.
weird.. i ride in RI where it's wet and salty a lot and i've had the same used 9 speed ultegra RD for over 12k miles plus whatever my friend had on it when i got it. not sure what rusted but that seems very odd. I ride my good bike all winter and it looks the same after. sprayed down to get the salt off and relube.
there are only so many parts that are steel on a bike and other than the chain they are usually bolts. a little surface rust on a bolt isn't going to kill you.
pro bikes with DA get wet by being washed and sprayed down with a power washer daily... you're doing something wrong.
