You ever consider that maybe the reason some of us went to higher flat protection tires is because we used to run without all that extra weight ? Do you think we do it cause we ran out of stuff to spend money on ?
You may only get 1 flat a season, i was getting 1 flat every 2-3 weeks and as many as 2 flats in a single week. Maybe your streets are not as bad as you think.
I use armadillos, havnt tried the tape and liners. But im sure people are aware of the weight and costs, and their decision to balance that vs how often they get a flat. And how inconvenient that flat is to them.
