I'm sure the above is true, but I'm one of the minority. I don't mean this as advice, just offering a point on the curve. My new bike numbed me almost immediately when I first got it, until I moved the saddle forward just a bit to put the wider, more padded part under my "sit bones" and the cutout under my "nerves." Then, tilted the nose down just a smidge at a time until the saddle became perfectly comfortable. Minute adjustments, it still looks level at a glance but is very slightly nose down.

You can't be that far off if it took a century to make you numb. I'm good for a couple hours, which is generally the most time I have to ride in one day.
