Hi there, I'm a new rider and looking for a good bike that will last me awhile and that I can be proud to ride. I can't really afford to go top of the line with a new bike, so my thinking is that I can get a used bike and get quality at a discounted price. I want something that's better than entry level so that I can have some room to grow into it and enjoy it. I realize I'm a complete NEWB, though, and I don't want to get ripped off.
I found this bike deal on Craigslist today and it seems like a pretty good deal to me (Masi Nuova Strada 2007 bike, see description below):

But I can't find much information about this bike online, and the difference between the 105 drive and tiagra shifters is confusing to me. I know 105 is better than tiagra, but I'm not sure about this since it has both. Please overlook my ignorance and help a guy out here.
