Toes have been numb for 2 days. Issue with shoes?
I have had my shoes for about a year or so. I have Shimano R133 shoes and Shimano 105 pedals. This is my first bike with clipless pedals. I usually don't have issues with my toes - sometimes they get a little numb during a long ride and I wiggle them just like I do when I go skiing and it's cold, but they never bother me off of the bike.
On Saturday morning I had a very intense (and short) race which was the hardest effort I've ever done. My brother mentioned he thinks the soles on my shoes are really stiff and wearing thin racing socks could be the issue, so perhaps I should put some sort of liner in my shoes. But he advised against wearing thicker socks.
Shouldn't have this gone away by now? Do you think cleat position could be an issue? Could an LBS look over this and would they be nice enough to check this out without charging me some sort of BS labor cost? I thought the numbness/tingling would go away by now. Yesterday I played other sports and during my games it wasn't an issue, but the numbness returned after I got home and was relaxing.
Have others had this issue and if so, what can be done to remedy this?
