According to the CDC there are more hyperthermia deaths than hypothermia deaths in the US per year but that's not the whole story. There are far more people active during the summer than there are during the winter. Although there are a few hardy souls outside in winter, most people aren't going to spend hours out in the cold while they will do so in the heat.
