I did a 600k ride with it Saturday and although not flawless, the device was very helpful. This is what a bad marriage must be like. It only let me down for about an hour between 2 and 3 am.....it just rolled over and went to sleep.
Here is a warning.....if your route crosses a track from an earlier part of the ride, the unit can misnavigate you to the wrong road (the one from earlier in the day). This happened to me Saturday at a five way intersection. Fortunately, I had a cuesheet and a sufficiently dumbfounded look on my face that a Good Ole' Boy pointed my down the right (unmarked) road.
I'm not really using the nav feature anymore, I found it to be pretty buggy when trying to follow a route I uploaded. Now I primarily use the data screens or nav without a preloaded route. I am thinking I'd really want to get the 1000 but the lack of multiple bike profiles is a deal breaker. I have a few bikes I swap between.
