My Uncle Bud who island-hopped through the Pacific as a Marine and who fought through the battle of Peleliu. He passed away just a couple of years ago. Also my Uncle Earl who went ashore at Omaha beach, survived the Battle of the Bulge and all the way through to the fall of Berlin. Both gentle, quiet men with absolutely nothing to prove to anyone.
