Visit a Chevrolet dealer that has one on display before you rent this car. Take a tape measure with you. A quick look at the specs for it show the car is a tad more than 11 feet long from bumper to bumper. It is one of the smallest cars on the market. Looking at the picture of the car, 11 feet doesn't leave much room for the back even with the seats folded down.

I had the same question before buying a Scion XB. Would my recumbent trike fit inside with the hatchback closed. I measured the room inside the rear with the seats folded down and it worked. Of course I didn't put the trike in the car. That's better than finding out it will not fit after the fact. I wouldn't suggest riding with the hatchback open as you might end up pulling in exhaust and get carbon monoxide poisoning.
