I rode clipless in my youth until I got hit and then drug (still held on the bike by those rotten pedal clips) for over three blocks before the driver stopped. As a result I still have major ugly scarring all along my left side.
I'm sure that if you had been hit by the car but not wearing clips, the experience would have been much less severe. I'm also sure that the many times where people have with falls, crashes, etc., where clips play no role in the severity of the accident are irrelevant. Your experience is universal and all else is just an anecdote, right? Not just for you, but also in your ability to judge others.
I'm sorry for your mishap and I have no reason to tell you that you should ride clipless based on your experience. But how it is that you think that this gives you the authority* to judge others' choices, preferences, and risks is beyond me.
*"authority" was originally written as "right". the guy has the right to say whatever he pleases, but whether he has the authority to make pronouncements of any value or import is another question.
