Luddite does not qualify as "name calling", and it is totally fair to call him that, because in common parlance, a Luddite is someone who eschews technology, which is precisely what his doing in the cycling context choosing to ride without speedometer/cadence/power, etc. I, too, appreciate him sharing his thoughts and expertise, and as I said, I appreciate his perspective from philosophical standpoint-- you know, the purity of cycling and all that, being in touch with one's body, so on and so forth-- but if he's having trouble grasping why telemetric data is of interest to the cycling community, then hopefully he can appreciate my participation here, as well.
