I did my first 4/5 race and I'm still cat 5. I did just as well in the 4/5 race as I do in the 5 races. There were only 7 cat 5's out of 50 people and I came in 36th or so out of 50, so I beat some cat 4's. But I guess it doesn't mean much since the top placers were much faster at the end when I was totally gassed.
