Not sure on the year, I think it is an '88 or '89. It came with Suntour Accushift XCD components. The u-brake on mine is mounted on the seat stay. I'd not seen it before. But I'll be damned if it isn't one of the most powerful brakes I've ever used. Locks up my rear tire with very little effort.
