Bikes: 2020 Trek Emonda SL6, 90's Vintage EL-OS Steel Bianchi with 2014 Campy Chorus Upgrade

Now Here Is a New Reason to Buy a Lighter Bicycle

My mid 90's Bianchi weighs in somewhere around 21 pounds - not a lightweight but not something that I am inclined to spend a ton of money to address either. But I am old (I hit age 65 this year) and my bike (like many I am sure) hangs from hooks in my garage. I am suffering from both mild arthritis in my hands and some rotator cuff (shoulder) issues that mostly affect my golf game. One of the nice things about being retired is that you have time for more than one avocation.

But this is beginning to be a problem as I am finding lifting my bike up onto the hooks to be more and more uncomfortable - enough that I sometimes don't put the bike 'away' (much to my wife's chagrin on occasion). Yet another reason to buy some way too expensive CF bicycle :-)
